Athlete Mental Health Support Club

A PLACE WHERE ALL ATHLETES CAN FEEL AT HOME AND OVERCOME THEIR MENTAL BATTLES

About Us

Athlete Mental Health Support Club was created in order to help battle the stigma and troubles that mental health can give to athletes due to trauma, injuries, and other personal issues life throws our way.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to empower athletes by breaking the stigma surrounding mental health in sports. We strive to provide a supportive platform where athletes can access vital resources, share their stories, and connect with professional help. By promoting education, resilience, and community, we aim to create a world where every athlete feels seen, supported, and equipped to prioritize their mental well-being—both on and off the field.”

About the Owner

My name is Aleksandar Basta and I am currently a Freshman student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I have played soccer all my life and have traveled all around the country and the world, participating in many events. I always dreamed of becoming a professional soccer player, as well as playing at the college level but unfortunately the last two years that dream has faded away. Getting constantly injured with Hamstring and ACL ruptures made me physically unable to continue playing. This took a massive toll on me as I felt like I put all the hard work and effort into my dream for nothing. Despite struggling mentally, with the support of family and friends I got through the tough times, and couldn’t have done it without them. I stopped playing competitive soccer at the young age of 18 due to these injuries, and now hope to inspire the upcoming generation that even through tough times, there is always someone there to help, and they are not alone.

The owner Aleksandar Basta.
